Makes my everyday practice easy! I work in a family practice and this is a wonderful and easily accessible tool to help guide my colleagues and patients. Keep up the great work! Love it!!!

If this app is truly for nursing mothers and not medical professionals, the information needs to be presented in laymans terms so its more accessible to the average person. Many people lack the health literacy necessary to interpret the info. Otherwise, great idea and has been helpful to me so far.

Fantastic app. Must have for breastfeeding moms. Doctors are not BFing experts and this easy to use app gives you all the info you need so you can do your own research and homework.

No more doctors giving false information and frightening mothers into weaning prematurely.

Fantastic for nursing moms!

Research-based, comprehensive, and well-organized. A few features that would be nice in the next version: -alternate drugs should be linked to their entries for ease of use -inclusion of a ranking system such as Thomas Hales "lactation risk categories" (L1-safest through L5-contraindicated -removal of value-based judgements of a mothers decision to use a medication (such statements have no bearing on breastfeeding) -ability to search for keywords and not just by title or class Overall a great app. I expect to use it regularly and so should every lactation consultant, pediatrician, midwife, OB, family practice doctor, and pharmacist

I am a pediatrician and this app is perfect! Well almost, the L1-5 classification would be great if included but is still useful despite that. Thanks!!

Great app for looking up compatiblity of drugs for nursing mothers. Full information does not download - so description is truncated. Works to give just enough info - and love that lactmed has iPhone app! Will give 5 stars once glitch is fixed. Recommended for all who work with BFing moms. Important reference!

This should be more popular. Get this if you breastfeed!!!

The Lactmed database online is a great tool for making sure drugs are okay to take while nursing. Unfortunately the Lactmed app has such limited functionality that its pretty much worthless. For example online if you want to look up a drug by its generic name, no problem--Lactmed will even make suggestions if you dont spell it right. With the app you cant just type in a generic name and search for it. Incredible how they took a website so good and easy to use and turned it into A frustrating, worthless app.

Thank you so much, not only for creating this app but also for the research behind it! The two combined are the most powerful resource! I have been able to look up a medication while still sitting in the doctors office and it is amazing how uninformed most are about the medication they prescribe. You are doing a great service to mothers and children, and therefore, everyone, by continuing this work.

I recommend this to any nursing mother, nurse, lactation consultant, pharmacist, and pediatrician. It is easy to use, and gives you all the info you need. I love that it includes not only the effect on infants but also on a mothers milk supply itself! So important, especially when a woman is first establishing her lactation! My sister-in-law is a pharmacist, and when I showed her the app to get her opinion, she said it was fantastic, downloaded it herself and recommended it to her colleagues.

This app is a fairly comprehensive resource for the breastfeeding mother. While there are books that cover more meds and their effects, the fact that this one is always in my pocket via my phone makes it my go-to.

Love this app. I use it constantly. I dont know what Id do without it. If youre a breastfeeding mama- you NEED this app!!

This app is very well done. It is nicely organized and useful for making choices regarding what drug to prescribe to a nursing mom. It is not perfect- looking under drug class, "analgesic- opioid" just lists codeine, while "analgesics- opioid" lists 16 opioid agents... It would also be nice to have a ranking by safety among drugs of the same category to make the choice a bit quicker. Overall a great app!

I am a nurse as well as a breastfeeding mother. I used this app today to find something for my cold since my usual go-to med (behind the counter decongestant) can decrease supply. The app led me to a decongestant nasal spray that is OTC that wouldnt effect my supply and I feel so much better now! The only downside is the navigation could be more user friendly, but it gets the job done.
